Senior Platform Engineer – d/f/m

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Designing, constructing, and managing scalable infrastructure and tools to handle over 1 billion monthly requests while ensuring optimal performance, availability, and resilience.

• Assisting with configurations, resolving deployment issues, and empowering teams to oversee containerized applications via Kubernetes and cloud-native tools in a highly dynamic environment.

• Working closely with engineering teams and technical leadership to enhance reliability, system performance, and deployment speed.

• Continuously monitoring, testing, and optimizing our systems to meet rapidly increasing operational demands, with an emphasis on automation and observability.

• Contributing to infrastructure design choices and developing reusable, modular infrastructure components utilizing Terraform.

• Actively disseminating knowledge, refining engineering practices, and uplifting the team’s engineering culture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical experience in Infrastructure Engineering, DevOps, Production Engineering, Platform Engineering, or SRE within high-scale production environments.

• Demonstrated expertise in cloud-based systems (preferably GCP) with confidence in scaling infrastructure for high-traffic services.

• Previous experience in breaking and repairing Terraform state files without any noticeable impact.

• Proficient in coding (Go and/or Typescript, though any modern language is acceptable), with a primary focus on reading and swiftly understanding various codebases.

• A collaborative and proactive attitude, with a keen interest in sharing knowledge, mentoring colleagues, and pursuing continuous learning.

• A strong desire to excel in environments that balance high technical standards with practical decision-making.

• Nice-to-Have: Expertise in Kubernetes, including the ability to run, secure, scale, and debug workloads in real-world scenarios.

• Extensive knowledge in system performance and resilience engineering.

• Bonus points for experience managing rollouts of custom software across global infrastructure, as well as orchestrating multi-tiered, canary, or staggered deployments.

• Actual in-depth coding experience in Go or Typescript.
