This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.
β’ Take charge of the cloud foundation. Design, construct, and manage our AWS architecture along with the Terraform/IaC that defines it β including accounts, networking, identity, and core services β ensuring it is reproducible, reviewed, and version-controlled infrastructure.
β’ Develop the self-service platform. Establish the golden paths and internal developer-platform tools that enable engineers and researchers to provision, deploy, and ship with minimal friction and sensible guardrails.
β’ Oversee CI/CD and the deployment framework. Create and maintain the pipelines and deployment substrate β including the processes that ensure our models and SDK are reliably deployed in cloud and on-prem/customer environments.
β’ Integrate security and networking into the platform. Ensure that security and a robust network are inherent to the paved road, not merely a checklist: implement IaC for access management and control, secrets management, least-privilege defaults, network segmentation, and private connectivity β making the right choice the easy choice.
β’ Establish the standards. Create, influence, and assess the architecture, standards, and processes that the platform team adheres to; determine, with a product-oriented perspective, what should transition to platform status versus what remains an experiment.
β’ Enhance observability and cost-awareness. Develop the metrics, alerting, and cost visibility necessary to maintain the platformβs reliability and economic efficiency as it scales.
β’ Support research at scale. Apply platform expertise to research workflows and facilitate self-service capabilities β promoting scale without managing research infrastructure execution.
β’ Expertise in AWS β practical experience in designing and operating cloud infrastructure for real workloads.
β’ Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code β experience with Terraform in production (knowledge of configuration-as-code tools like Ansible is a plus); you treat infrastructure as reviewed, reproducible software.
β’ Strong understanding of Kubernetes and containers β hands-on experience with container orchestration and its associated components.
β’ Excellent CI/CD and developer-experience skills β experience with GitHub Actions, ArgoCD/Flux, or equivalent; you've developed pipelines and internal tools that other engineers rely on.
β’ Security engineering expertise β you implement access control, secrets management, and least-privilege in code, while considering the security posture of your creations.
β’ Strong networking skills β hands-on experience with cloud and hybrid networking (VPC design, segmentation, private connectivity, DNS, load balancing, ingress/egress control).
β’ A platform-as-a-product mindset β you can discern what should be a productized paved road versus a script, establish opinionated defaults, and empower teams instead of restricting them.
β’ Solid software engineering skills β proficiency in Python, Go, or a similar language, along with sound engineering practices.
β’ Competitive salary and meaningful equity
β’ Flexible/remote-friendly working
β’ Significant room for growth at the intersection of AI and biology
