Senior Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Oversee the assessment and deployment of an API gateway solution for the platform.

• Integrate current pipelines and develop a comprehensive blueprint that adheres to security standards and best practices.

• Leverage and share API gateway expertise across various cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Play a role in the development and maintenance of shared platform capabilities for application development teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive technical knowledge in application development, cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and platform engineering.

• Prior experience in creating or contributing to an Internal Developer Platform, developer portal, or shared cloud platform.

• Practical experience with API gateway technologies such as Kong, Apache APISIX, Envoy, AWS API Gateway, Azure API Management, or similar tools.

• Solid understanding of API security, authentication and authorization, traffic management, rate limiting, resilience, service discovery, and observability.

• Strong software engineering capabilities in Java or Kotlin.

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, containers, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and observability practices.

• Ability to work adaptively with incomplete requirements and convert business or technical objectives into actionable solutions.

• Experience in assessing technical options, developing prototypes, documenting trade-offs, and presenting recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Accustomed to taking full ownership in agile, cross-functional teams without predefined tickets.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills; proficiency in English (German is an advantage).
