This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Ensure the stability of the control plane within a distributed microservice architecture that closely interacts with Kubernetes and cloud provider APIs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve intricate Kubernetes issues across various regions and cloud environments.
• Automate the lifecycle of databases, including deployment, resizing, upgrading, and forking.
• Engage in on-call rotations, manage incident responses, and conduct root cause analysis.
• Create back-end features for Tiger Cloud, focusing on a distributed microservice architecture.
• Develop Kubernetes controllers, operators, and Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs) to enhance platform capabilities.
• Improve observability and monitoring systems.
• Boost deployment reliability, error handling, and client tooling, including CLI interfaces.
• Work closely with infrastructure and software engineering teams.
• Keep up-to-date with Kubernetes releases and contribute to the system architecture of scalable microservices.
• A minimum of 3 years in software or platform engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience with Go in production settings.
• Over 2 years of Kubernetes operations experience, including building, debugging, and scaling clusters.
• Familiarity with distributed systems and microservice architectures.
• Advanced expertise in Go (Golang), specifically Go 1.24+ as the primary development language.
• Proficient Kubernetes user with knowledge of client-go, capable of developing CRDs and controllers.
• Experience in the administration, migration, replication, and performance tuning of PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB.
• Background in using gRPC & Protobufs for service development and schema definition.
• Experience with ECPG and Rust for creating low-latency, memory-efficient applications is a plus.
• Familiarity with Helm Charts for template management and deployment automation.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes Operators and CI/CD processes using GitHub Actions.
• Comfortable with Prometheus, OpenTelemetry/Jaeger, and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform and Pulumi.
