Senior Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Manage the production system: handling deployments, rollbacks, capacity planning, and incident response.

• Develop and implement the scaling strategy — including horizontal scaling, load balancing, caching layers, object-storage offload, database replication, and IPFS-node fan-out.

• Assess and incorporate cloud components (managed databases, object storage, CDN, load balancers) where they justify their expense.

• Establish CI/CD pipelines (greenfield — likely utilizing GitHub Actions) that encompass testing, building, image pushing, and deployment across all services.

• Create observability measures: including metrics, logs, error tracking, SLOs, and relevant alerts.

• Oversee TLS / ACME automation, DNS management, and secrets handling — transitioning from hardcoded credentials to a comprehensive secret-management solution.

• Implement infrastructure-as-code (using Terraform or a similar tool) to ensure the production system is reproducible.

• Leverage AI coding assistants to develop IaC modules, runbooks, and incident-response playbooks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in Linux sysadmin / DevOps / SRE / Platform Engineering.

• Proficient in Docker: writing, debugging, and optimizing Dockerfiles and multi-service compose stacks.

• Solid understanding of networking concepts: DNS, TLS, HTTP semantics, reverse proxies, and load balancers.

• Proficient in scripting: Bash and at least one of Python (or similar languages like Go/Ruby).

• Experience in designing CI/CD pipelines with any modern systems.

• Hands-on production operations experience - familiarity with being on-call, writing postmortems, and creating capacity plans.

• Knowledge of at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure) including their load-balancing, object-storage, and managed-database services.

• Proficient in Git.

• Experience utilizing AI coding assistants and agent-based workflows in real operational tasks.

• Strong written English skills - ability to produce runbooks, RFCs, and postmortems as essential deliverables.
