Senior Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance Solace's cloud infrastructure and application platform that supports healthcare services.

• Evaluate risks and impacts associated with modifications to the live environment.

• Engage in the on-call rotation.

• Diagnose issues stemming from intricate interactions among technology, governance, and personnel.

• Create and implement autonomous self-healing processes.

• Assist product and data engineers in your areas of expertise while expanding knowledge in new areas.

• Liaise with stakeholders and internal platform clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in a start-up setting.

• Demonstrated ability to build scalable infrastructure for hosting web applications or managing data workloads.

• Extensive troubleshooting skills across various architectural and abstraction levels, both independently and collaboratively.

• Proficient with command line operations and comfortable using Linux.

• Excellent communication abilities.

• Familiarity with GCP, AWS, or Azure; experience with GCP is preferred.

• Additional experience with cloud landing zones is a plus.

• Knowledge of GitOps technologies like Terraform.

• Understanding of VPCs, subnets, routes, peering, DNS, load balancers, L4/L7 routing, NAT gateways, CDNs, and TLS.

• Experience with observability tools such as Datadog and OpenTelemetry.

• Background in infrastructure monitoring, application performance monitoring, and database performance.

• Ability to assist in instrumenting application code, creating dashboards, and collaborating with application engineers.

• Expertise in one or more focus areas: site reliability, Kubernetes, polyglot programming, DevOps, developer product experience, data infrastructure, distributed systems, or security.
