This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of a defined set of developer platform capabilities, encompassing design, implementation, rollout, and iteration.
• Develop and refine paved roads (golden paths, service templates, scaffolding) that simplify the deployment, operation, and scaling of services.
• Establish strong feedback loops with engineers from product and ML teams; assess adoption rates and address common friction points.
• Enhance GitOps workflows through ArgoCD and automate Terraform processes with Atlantis.
• Strengthen CI/CD practices on GitLab CI, focusing on pipeline performance, safety, and developer experience.
• Design reusable platform primitives for progressive delivery patterns (canary, blue/green).
• Contribute to SLI/SLO frameworks and shared observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, OpenTelemetry).
• Engage in the platform team's on-call rotation; minimize toil through automation and improved system design.
• Enhance incident response and postmortem practices to ensure learnings lead to systemic improvements.
• Integrate secure-by-default patterns into platform templates (secrets, IAM, RBAC, NetworkPolicies).
• Collaborate with security on compliance standards (SOC 2, ISO 27001) without hindering delivery timelines.
• Work alongside infrastructure/SRE owners on Kubernetes and foundational cloud elements (networking, storage, cluster/platform primitives) to directly enhance developer workflows.
• Advance cloud-native abstractions to ensure the platform remains portable and resilient as our footprint expands (currently on GCP, with potential for other providers in the future).
• Over 5 years of professional experience in platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, or SRE.
• Proven experience operating in at least one major cloud environment (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
• Proficiency in GitOps with hands-on experience (ArgoCD, Flux, or similar), including rollout, drift detection, and recovery strategies.
• Experience in building or managing key components of an internal developer platform (e.g., self-service deployment/operations workflows, golden paths/service templates, developer portals, platform APIs, or developer tools).
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code practices: Terraform plus a configuration system (Kapitan, Helm, Kustomize, or similar).
• Background in software engineering with a major high-level programming language, comfortable creating libraries, CLIs, or APIs.
• Proven ability to lead technical projects across multiple teams.
• Fast-paced, collaborative environment where your contributions directly influence the company's trajectory.
• We operate as a fully remote company.
• Competitive salary and meaningful equity opportunities.
• Significant responsibilities and opportunities for professional growth.
• Comprehensive training programs, including functional, customer immersion, and development training.
• Medical, dental, and vision insurance (specific benefits vary by region).
• Unlimited paid time off, with a mandatory minimum of 20 days per year.
• Paid parental leave (specific benefits vary by region).
• Flexible stipends to enhance your workspace, well-being, and ongoing professional development.
• Company-provided MacBook.
