Senior Platform Engineer

📋 Description

• Develop and uphold a self-service application delivery platform tailored for AWS workloads.

• Create reusable Jenkins shared libraries and establish pipeline standards.

• Construct Terraform module stacks for services including ECS, S3, SQS, Lambda, IAM, and other relevant AWS offerings.

• Define the application contract in YAML format utilized by application teams.

• Execute promotion workflows, obtain necessary approvals, prevent drift, and ensure environment separation.

• Collaborate with developers, security teams, and operations to create secure pathways.

• Design and implement comprehensive Jenkins Declarative and Scripted pipelines using Groovy to enable smooth code promotion from development to production environments.

• Build Terraform modules and root-module compositions for applications comprising multiple services.

• Provide support for ECS Fargate and optional AWS features such as S3, SQS, Lambda, IAM.

• Standardize workflows for building, testing, deploying, and approving applications.

• Establish effective practices for managing Terraform state and environments.

• Develop documentation, templates, and onboarding resources for application teams.

• Enhance reliability, observability, security, and cost-effectiveness.

⛳️ Requirements

• Candidates must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD 'PUBLIC TRUST'; approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST is required before onboarding with Guidehouse.

• Preference will be given to candidates who already possess an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY.

• A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent of FOUR (4) additional years of experience in lieu of a degree is required.

• A minimum of SEVEN (7) years of experience in Platform Development is necessary.

• Extensive experience with AWS is essential, particularly with ECS, IAM, S3, SQS, Lambda, VPC, and CloudWatch.

• Hands-on experience with Terraform is a must, including module design and backend/state management.

• Proficiency in Jenkins pipeline development, ideally with shared libraries and multibranch pipelines.

• Experience in creating reusable platform abstractions for various services is required.

• Strong scripting skills in Bash or Python are needed.

• Familiarity with SDLC, deployment strategies, and release governance is important.
