This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Oversee, enhance, and troubleshoot Nextflow pipelines designed for large-scale multi-omics workloads.
• Develop and sustain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) for cloud infrastructure and scientific workflow deployments.
• Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
• Architect and integrate AWS services such as EC2, S3, ECS, Batch, RDS, and KMS into production environments.
• Ensure the security, compliance, auditing, and reproducibility of scientific computing workloads.
• Support and enhance high-performance computing tasks across on-premises HPC clusters and AWS.
• Enhance the reliability and throughput of analytical workflows that process petabytes of data.
• Collaborate with researchers to convert scientific requirements into robust engineering solutions.
• Contribute to the design of microservices that facilitate scientific data exploration and visualization.
• Assist in building distributed systems that uphold FAIR data principles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex engineering challenges from start to finish.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps, CloudOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering.
• Strong background in AWS services and cloud architecture.
• Proficient in Terraform.
• Expertise in Python programming.
• Solid understanding of Linux, with strong troubleshooting and automation skills.
• Capability to work with intricate systems in distributed environments.
• Familiarity with bioinformatics, genomics, or multi-omics workflows is a plus.
• Practical experience with operating Nextflow pipelines is advantageous.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm is desirable.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools is a plus.
• Understanding of FAIR data principles, GxP, and healthcare data standards is beneficial.
