This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Designing, constructing, and automating the Software Development Lifecycle and Infrastructure that supports Fieldwire.
• Taking responsibility for the reliability and performance of production systems, which includes leading incident responses, conducting root-cause analyses, and implementing preventive measures.
• Creating and maintaining monitoring, alerting, and observability systems to ensure optimal uptime and highlight the metrics that guide engineering decisions.
• Leading the investigation and resolution of intricate issues related to application performance, scalability, and security throughout Fieldwire's systems.
• Establishing technical direction and making architectural choices for platform infrastructure in collaboration with engineering leadership.
• Working alongside and influencing engineering teams to develop a platform capable of scaling to meet increasing demand.
• Guiding other engineers on infrastructure best practices, operational excellence, and secure system design.
• Promoting continuous enhancement of tools, processes, and standards to safeguard and boost Fieldwire's development velocity.
• Engaging in and assisting in leading an on-call rotation, with ownership of the processes surrounding change and incident management.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or SRE, including direct responsibility for production systems.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Golang, Java, Python, Ruby, or Rust.
• Proven experience managing AWS cloud infrastructure and related services pertaining to CI/CD at scale.
• Extensive experience with Docker and containerization in production settings.
• Significant experience in participating in and leading an on-call rotation, addressing and resolving production incidents.
• Experience in developing, refining, and advocating for processes related to change and incident management.
• Strong command of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), such as AWS CDK or Terraform, including the design of reusable and secure IaC patterns.
• Proven ability to mentor fellow engineers and influence technical decisions across teams.
