Senior Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Design and construct backend systems.

• You will create, implement, and manage high-performance backend services and APIs capable of handling large-scale transactions and real-time data.

• Enhance performance and scalability.

• You will maximize our system’s throughput and efficiency, ensuring smooth operation at scale.

• Improve security and reliability.

• You will apply best practices for secure, fault-tolerant, and highly available distributed systems.

• Collaborate across the company.

• You will work with front-end engineers, designers, and stakeholders across the organization to provide a fully integrated user experience.

• Engage in code reviews.

• You will be instrumental in maintaining the quality of our codebase by offering feedback and suggestions on colleagues' work during code review sessions.

• Involve in research and innovation.

• You will keep up with advancements in blockchain-based trading technologies, investigating new solutions to enhance our platform.

• Interact with customers.

• You will directly communicate with customers, offering support and collecting feedback.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in backend development.

• Proven experience in architecting and developing solutions for ambiguous problems with significant impact and high usage.

• Master-level expertise in systems programming languages such as Golang, Rust, or C++.

• Strong understanding of database systems and their internals (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).

• Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.

• (Plus) Experience in blockchain-specific backend development (e.g., working on BFT consensus engines, event indexing systems, libp2p).

• (Plus) Experience with Ethereum roll-up technologies (e.g., Arbitrum Nova, Optimism).

• (Plus) Contributions to open source projects.

• (Plus) Active involvement on ethresear.ch.
