Senior Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain production-grade Go microservices for Convoso’s cutting-edge SaaS platform.

• Create high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems that manage call routing, reporting, AI processing, and the synchronization of customer data.

• Utilize NATS, JetStream, and Kafka for high-volume asynchronous event streaming.

• Construct, scale, and enhance real-time voice and communication pipelines.

• Handle high-concurrency SIP traffic, media streaming, and call control logic.

• Collaborate with carrier infrastructure to ensure call quality, placement, and fault-tolerant voice routing.

• Work with PostgreSQL and ClickHouse database architectures.

• Improve queries, data structures, and state management for real-time reporting and dashboards.

• Detect bottlenecks and optimize code, networking, and memory allocation.

• Deploy, manage, and support resilient software in large-scale cloud production environments.

• Engage in system design reviews and advocate for software engineering best practices.

• Collaborate with product and infrastructure teams.

• Build infrastructure capable of processing millions of real-time interactions daily.

• Enhance the reliability, speed, and functionality of Convoso’s flagship product suite.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional experience in developing large-scale, high-concurrency backend software using Go (Golang).

• Practical experience with real-time communications platforms and protocols, including FreeSWITCH, Kamailio, SIPGo, Pion WebRTC, Asterisk, or RTPengine.

• Demonstrated expertise in building event-driven architectures utilizing NATS, JetStream, or Apache Kafka.

• Experience managing both relational databases (PostgreSQL) and analytical column-oriented databases (ClickHouse) at scale.

• Proficient understanding of SIP, WebRTC media streams, network packet flow, and fundamental telephony concepts.

• Proven ability to design systems comprised of numerous interdependent microservices functioning at high velocity.

• Track record of developing software where ultra-low latency is essential.

• Experience in scaling production infrastructure to accommodate rapid increases in users, events, and concurrent traffic.

• Background in communication platforms and CPaaS providers is highly preferred.
