Senior Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and develop scalable, resilient, and efficient platform solutions in an iterative manner, utilizing cloud services and contemporary software design frameworks.

• Build modular and reusable infrastructure using Terraform and associated tools.

• Collaborate across departments and functions to enhance DevOps practices through automation.

• Architect, develop, and sustain CI/CD pipelines to cater to platform functionalities and customer demands at scale.

• Provide solutions grounded in event-driven, object-oriented, and functional design patterns.

• Take ownership of designing and implementing monitoring and logging solutions to guarantee reliability and performance.

• Assist in defining and maintaining a lifecycle process for platform systems, ensuring updates, patches, and security compliance are met.

• Leverage deep expertise in platform engineering while utilizing cross-disciplinary knowledge to foster effective collaboration among development, operations, and security teams.

• Quickly resolve cloud infrastructure issues, analyze performance, and implement necessary enhancements.

• Evaluate system performance and apply optimizations to enhance speed, efficiency, and resource utilization.

• Anticipate and strategize infrastructure scaling to accommodate the growing demands of the business.

• Employ a security-first mindset, ensuring adherence to SOC, SOC2, HIPAA, NIST, and other regulatory requirements.

• Implement and oversee IAM, firewall, and SIEM solutions.

• Integrate a variety of diverse and non-traditional systems to achieve practical and innovative outcomes.

• Tackle challenges creatively and devise effective solutions when traditional methods are insufficient.

• Lead assigned projects, promoting cross-team collaboration, execution delivery, and accountability.

• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code while adhering to best practices and established development standards.

• Participate in the on-call rotation to maintain the reliability and availability of platform services.

• Utilize generative AI tools such as Claude, Copilot, or ChatGPT to enhance productivity and deliver high-quality results.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in platform, cloud, or SRE engineering.

• Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms including AWS and Azure.

• Strong understanding of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or others.

• Experience transitioning from a legacy environment to modern cloud practices.

• Extensive experience with Git and collaborative workflows.

• Intermediate skills in Terraform, CloudFormation, or other Infrastructure as Code frameworks.

• Intermediate experience in developing CI/CD pipelines and related tools.

• Proficient in Agile methodologies and the SDLC process at an intermediate level.

• Solid understanding of containerization tools like Docker, Podman, LXC, and similar technologies.

• Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous situations.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
