
Senior Plant Controller – 50% Travel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Conduct ongoing plant accounting activities, which include balancing detailed and general ledgers, performing month-end account analyses and reconciliations, and executing monthly general ledger closures.
• Ensure precise and consistent application of cost accounting standards, inventory management, and operational reporting across all facilities.
• Uphold the integrity of accounting data by reviewing variance analyses for all elements affecting GM, such as MUV and labor/burden absorption.
• Balance and maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions while resolving discrepancies.
• Aid plant managers in interpreting operational results and offer recommendations for cost reduction, margin enhancement, and profit improvement.
• Oversee the fixed asset capitalization process and the associated FA system to guarantee accurate asset valuations and depreciation.
• Lead Margin Committee activities, including follow-up and improvement tracking at each location.
• Mentor and develop plant finance support teams, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
• Collaborate with IT and finance systems teams to enhance reporting tools and optimize ERP utilization for operational benefits at the plant level.
• Assist in the integration of new sites, systems, or processes as part of standardization, growth, or transformation initiatives.
• Undertake all other duties and projects as assigned.
• A minimum of 5 years of practical accounting experience in a manufacturing setting is required; experience across multiple sites is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of cost accounting, inventory control, and financial analysis.
• Demonstrated leadership and team development skills.
• Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and communication abilities.
• Proficient in a multi-ERP environment (e.g., Epicor, JobBoss, M2M) and advanced Excel skills.
• Capability to influence cross-functional teams and promote financial accountability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel required.
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to maintain a sense of urgency, manage stressful situations, multitask, and prioritize work effectively.
• Comfortable working in both a multi-site team environment and independently.
