This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Responsible for the design, layout, installation, and upkeep of piping systems and their respective supports.
• Contribute to the overall design and analysis of mechanical components, systems, and piping layouts for both nuclear and commercial initiatives.
• Generate comprehensive engineering drawings, P&IDs, and 3D models for piping pathways, equipment positioning, and facility arrangements.
• Execute a range of engineering calculations utilizing both traditional and advanced methods, adhering to applicable design codes and regulatory standards.
• Specify piping materials, fittings, valves, and support structures.
• Conduct stress analysis with software tools to verify structural integrity.
• Focus on the development of technical specifications, requisitions, and vendor suggestions for piping components.
• Review technical documents and drawings, calculations, design/analysis reports, and design requirements.
• Specialize in the routine development, management, and execution of engineering analyses, activities, and programs aimed at identifying and resolving recurring equipment and system issues.
• Collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams on project-based assignments, ensuring seamless design integration across various disciplines.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field is mandatory.
• A minimum of 7 years of pertinent experience is required.
• Experience in the nuclear sector is preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) designation is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• In-depth knowledge and practical experience in piping and systems design are required.
• Familiarity with industry codes and regulations is necessary.
• Ability to perform complex technical tasks with minimal supervision.
• Advanced understanding and application of fundamental principles and concepts related to piping and mechanical design.
• Proficiency with CAD software, such as SolidWorks.
• Must meet eligibility criteria to work under 10 CFR Part 810.
• U.S. citizenship is required for consideration.
