This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Oversee and strategically expand an established portfolio of high-net-worth donors, ensuring strong retention rates and increased annual contributions.
• Identify, cultivate, and acquire new major donors through targeted research, outreach efforts, and personalized cultivation strategies.
• Collaborate closely with the leadership team, marketing, operations, and the Board of Directors to secure impactful contributions.
• Maintain an accurate and comprehensive major-donor forecast and pipeline, ensuring clarity in strategy and readiness for board reporting.
• Create data-driven strategies to prioritize prospective donors, enhance engagement, and project revenue.
• Serve as an internal analytics authority, utilizing data to shape outreach strategies, anticipate donor behavior, and uncover growth opportunities.
• Act as the Salesforce specialist for the philanthropy department, developing dashboards, optimizing workflows, maintaining data integrity, and ensuring precise reporting.
• Employ wealth-screening platforms and prospect-research tools to identify, categorize, and assess donor capacity and affinity.
• Lead the development and ongoing enhancement of systems, processes, and analytical tools to boost fundraising efficiency.
• Design personalized cultivation and stewardship plans for key donors and potential supporters.
• Coordinate with team members to guarantee meaningful, timely, and coordinated engagement with donors.
• Advocate for increased philanthropic investment in the organization’s mission, encouraging donors to elevate their impact.
• Foster and manage relationships with donors who are interested in legacy and planned giving options.
• Collaborate with legal and financial advisors to structure and secure commitments for planned giving.
• Utilize donor-management, analytics, and wealth-screening tools to monitor donor profiles, giving histories, and engagement trends.
• Leverage propensity-to-give data to refine outreach efforts, qualify prospects, and prioritize donor portfolios.
• Analyze trends to identify opportunities for stewardship, upgrades, and new donor acquisition.
• Encourage philanthropic leadership among Board members, fostering meaningful participation in giving and fundraising activities.
• Act as a thought leader in philanthropy, guiding staff and Board leadership on trends, strategies, and best practices.
• Develop and actively expand a portfolio of corporate partners and sponsors, ensuring strong retention, increased annual support, and long-term relationships that align with the mission.
• Demonstrated success in philanthropy and major donor engagement within the non-profit sector.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate stakeholders.
• Technical proficiency in relevant research methodologies and development tools.
• Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to leverage data to inform fundraising strategies.
• Strategic thinker with problem-solving skills focused on driving innovation and impact.
• Experience in designing and implementing systems and processes to improve fundraising efficiency.
• Chicago-based candidates preferred, but not mandatory.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively in unstructured or ambiguous situations.
• Passion for the mission of the MPN Research Foundation and a dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of those affected by MPNs.
• Familiarity with marketing principles and strategies is advantageous.
