This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the main point of contact for employee relations issues, including performance challenges, interpersonal conflicts, investigations, and complex workplace situations.
• Guide managers through challenging discussions, feedback delivery, performance management, and necessary documentation.
• Provide consistent, equitable, and legally sound advice throughout significant employee lifecycle events.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership regarding people-related risks, decisions, and trade-offs.
• Collaborate with the Head of People to align company strategy with people practices that are appropriately scaled.
• Recognize patterns and systemic issues early and suggest practical, proactive interventions.
• Act as a change partner for leaders, assisting in the design, communication, and implementation of organizational changes to foster understanding, acceptance, and trust.
• Support processes related to performance management, goal setting, feedback cycles, and enhancing manager capabilities.
• Collaborate with leaders on team structuring, talent and succession planning, and methods of working that promote strong performance and sustainable growth.
• Assist managers in addressing underperformance, role clarity issues, and organizational changes.
• Promote a culture of high performance while minimizing unnecessary bureaucracy.
• Oversee the offboarding and separation process for employees and managers, including conducting exit interviews, drafting separation agreements, and coordinating with Finance.
• Collaborate on compensation cycles from start to finish, including merit and promotion rounds, off-cycle adjustments, and preparing change-of-salary and promotion letters.
• Serve as a reliable contact for manager and employee compensation inquiries, exercising discretion in resolving issues directly or escalating as necessary.
• Aid in the development and improvement of People processes, templates, documentation, and resources for managers.
• Partner on tools and workflows that enhance consistency, efficiency, and the overall employee experience.
• Balance compliance, efficiency, and sound judgment as the organization expands.
• Collaborate with the Head of People to facilitate change initiatives (e.g., policy updates, process adjustments), including re-education, leader enablement, and reinforcement.
• Work with People Ops, Legal, and Finance to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and international employment laws.
• Assist with leave administration, policy application, and complex employee situations.
• Ensure that People practices are defensible, consistent, and aligned with the company's values.
• Act as the point of contact for work authorization requirements, including H-1B, STEM OPT and Form I-983, and TN visa reviews.
• Collaborate with immigration counsel on case strategy and coordinate with candidates, employees, and hiring teams throughout the process.
• 7–10+ years of HR experience, including a minimum of 5 years in an HR Business Partner role within high-growth or complex environments.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to quickly grasp context, challenge assumptions when necessary, and guide leaders through difficult trade-offs.
• Extensive experience in employee relations, performance management, and coaching managers.
• Ability to operate effectively both synchronously and asynchronously in a fast-paced, remote-first, and dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with a high degree of discretion.
