
Senior Payroll Specialist – Latin America

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Oversee payroll cycles from start to finish: including timekeeping intake, gross-to-net calculations, off-cycle runs, terminations, bonuses, and retro pay.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local taxes: managing withholdings, deposits, quarterly returns (941, state equivalents), and year-end documentation (W-2, W-3, 1099).
• Handle multi-state payroll: tracking nexus, understanding reciprocity rules, SUI rates, and local taxes.
• Manage notices and ensure follow-through: respond to agency communications, handle amendments, and provide clients with clear options and timelines to maintain their confidence.
• Lead payroll staff: delegate tasks, review their work, and offer timely, constructive feedback.
• Implement and enhance payroll processing systems for efficiency.
• Participate in client calls to identify impacts (cash flow, compliance, timing) and deliver actionable insights for leaders.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of payroll experience, encompassing multi-state and multi-client cycles.
• Experience in a supervisory role leading a payroll team.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of payroll, coupled with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with payroll platforms (e.g., Gusto, ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks Payroll, Rippling) and cloud accounting tools.
• Strong skills in Excel/Google Sheets, including lookups and pivot tables.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with a confident client-facing presence.
• Availability to work during U.S. business hours (night shift, PH-based).
• CPP or FPC certification is preferred.
• Experience managing payroll for CPA firms or accounting service clients is preferred.
• Experience with payroll system implementation is preferred.
