This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Take charge of the payroll processing in the Philippines, guaranteeing accuracy, punctuality, and an outstanding experience for clients while achieving all service delivery targets and KPIs.
• Work in conjunction with local payroll vendors to carry out end-to-end payroll operations, conducting audits, reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and service standards.
• Act as a subject matter expert for payroll-related queries from customers and internal teams, offering clear, consultative, and timely solutions in accordance with company SLAs.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., Payroll Transformation, Product) to support, enhance, and continually improve Oyster's automated native payroll processes.
• Actively track local payroll regulations and legislative updates, partnering with the HR Advisory team to implement necessary changes and ensure full compliance.
• Assume responsibility for local payroll and associated HR procedures, including managing deductions and supporting employee lifecycle events (onboarding/offboarding) within your designated region, the Philippines.
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of payroll-related knowledge bases, playbooks, and guides to empower internal teams and improve the overall client experience.
• Conduct thorough pre- and post-payroll audits and reconciliations (covering salaries, benefits, pensions, time off, etc.) to ensure the utmost data integrity and accuracy.
• Guarantee timely and precise submission of all payroll records and reports to the appropriate government agencies.
• Engage in and contribute to special payroll projects and initiatives as necessary to support the team's strategic objectives.
• Over 5 years of direct payroll experience, with extensive, end-to-end expertise in managing the payroll process for the Philippines, including thorough knowledge of local taxation, compliance, and labor laws.
• Proven experience working with enterprise-level payroll systems and local payroll vendors, including hands-on involvement in overseeing system configuration, data inputs/outputs, validations, and daily payroll operations.
• A successful history of collaborating with cross-functional teams such as finance transformation, automation (RPA), or process improvement to boost payroll efficiency.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (in English), with the ability to serve as a trusted advisor and clarify complex payroll issues with confidence and empathy.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets for reporting and data reconciliation purposes.
• Strong organizational abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines accurately in a fast-paced, fully remote setting.
