Senior Payroll Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the entire payroll cycle—from timesheets to STP lodgement—for intricate, award-driven Australian payrolls using Employment Hero / KeyPay.

• Manage a client portfolio, ensuring each employee is paid accurately and punctually with zero compliance breaches at every payroll run.

• Calculate redundancies, ETPs, and leave in lieu while applying the appropriate tax and STP 2 codes.

• Maintain full payroll compliance, including STP, payroll tax, WorkCover, FBT data, and legislative monitoring.

• Calculate SG, salary-sacrifice, and RESC; lodge batches accordingly.

• Monitor all types of leave, ensuring accurate balances and posting monthly journals.

• Register entities, determine state payroll tax liabilities, file monthly and annual returns, reconcile to GL, and ensure timely payments.

• Implement deductions and coordinate with Services Australia for timely remittance.

• Serve as a technical subject matter expert (SME) during our transition to a more scalable marketplace payroll model, providing guidance with expertise.

• Collaborate across Product, Operations, and Service teams to enhance workflows and drive future growth.

• Partner with leadership to define the future direction of payroll delivery at Visory.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in Australian payroll, particularly with modern awards / EAs.

• Proficient user of Employment Hero / KeyPay, including the rules engine, custom GL, and STP 2 functionalities.

• In-depth knowledge of award compliance, payroll tax across all states, superannuation, portable long service leave, workers' compensation, and FBT.

• Familiarity with HRIS and Time and Attendance integrations (e.g., Tanda, Shiftcare, BambooHR) is preferred.

• Strong command of English—capable of translating payroll terminology into simple language for clients and stakeholders.
