This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +3 more states.
• Act as the representative for AES Clean Energy on projects involving wind, solar, and energy storage while assisting with project finance and engineering activities.
• Advocate for safety across all projects and onsite locations.
• Provide support to the Origination, Procurement, Development, and M&A teams for new project initiatives.
• Draft and refine contracts pertaining to technical specifications.
• Assess production estimates and determine the suitability of wind turbine sites.
• Collaborate with project teams to guarantee quality installation and maintenance throughout the portfolio.
• Review engineering plans and technical documentation for feedback and approval.
• Partner with construction teams to adhere to technical, banking, Independent Engineering, and AES standards.
• Gather, organize, review, and distribute engineering and construction deliverables to Independent Engineering firms.
• Provide support for operational facilities and engage in root-cause analyses for equipment failures.
• Assist with technical due diligence for tax equity and construction debt financing.
• Aid in the selection of Independent Engineers.
• Evaluate Independent Engineer reports and construction site visit supplements.
• Facilitate and attend construction site visits with EPCs, Independent Engineers, investors, and financiers.
• Oversee multiple project timelines and the issuance of Independent Engineer reports.
• Address engineering and other due diligence inquiries from Independent Engineers and investors.
• Identify and address or mitigate potential risks.
• Coordinate updates to production estimates based on feedback from Independent Engineers.
• Lead engineering modeling initiatives associated with financial models.
• Collaborate with legal teams and Independent Engineers regarding certificates and reliance letters.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Over 5 years of professional experience in the design, development, and construction of wind turbine projects.
• Proven experience with wind project construction, quality control processes, and investor site visits.
• Familiarity with debt or tax equity financing practices, terminology, and requirements.
• Strong technical writing abilities, capable of conveying complex technical subjects to a non-engineering audience.
• Skills in project and case management, with a strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
• Knowledge of NEC and NESC codes, as well as related standards like IBC and NFPA 855.
• Master’s degree in Engineering (preferred qualification).
• Professional Engineer certification (preferred qualification).
• WTG Climb Training and Safety certification (preferred qualification).
• OSHA 10-hour or equivalent job-site safety certification (preferred qualification).
