Senior Oracle DBA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and oversee physical database structures and DBMS environments.

• Conduct database optimization, capacity planning, migrations, installations, and performance tuning.

• Administer and uphold Oracle databases (10g, 11g, 12c, 19c) within extensive multi-tenant frameworks.

• Design, construct, and configure Oracle database servers across Windows, Linux, and Unix platforms.

• Lead and facilitate enterprise Oracle database upgrades to newer versions (19c or higher).

• Ensure optimal database performance for enterprise applications, including GIS, Java, and web-based systems.

• Implement and sustain database security measures, auditing, and compliance controls.

• Support both cloud-based and on-premise database environments.

• Configure and manage advanced Oracle functionalities (such as Data Guard, RAC, TDE, OEM).

• Execute backup and recovery planning and execution.

• Troubleshoot intricate database issues and deliver expert-level assistance.

• Conduct systems analysis and contribute to the design of technical solutions.

• Coordinate the implementation of complex systems and assist with data refresh activities.

• Identify, evaluate, and communicate technical risks along with mitigation strategies.

• Document technical tasks and ensure effective knowledge transfer.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in Database Administration or related IT positions.

• Strong experience with Oracle database technologies across various versions.

• Expertise in database optimization, migration, performance tuning, and backup/recovery processes.

• Experience with a variety of operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix).

• Proficiency in SQL and query languages.

• Familiarity with incident, change, and configuration management procedures.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Proven track record of meeting deadlines and collaborating within a team.
