This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide assistance for Oracle databases, which includes configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Actively monitor system performance, optimize SQL queries, enhance indexes, and manage database configurations to avert performance issues.
• Spearhead performance tuning and troubleshooting activities, identifying bottlenecks and executing effective solutions.
• Design, implement, and maintain high availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) strategies, encompassing Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters), Oracle Data Guard, SQL Server Always On Availability Groups, and Failover Clustering.
• Deploy and upgrade various versions of Oracle (e.g., 12c, 19c) and Microsoft SQL Server across physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
• Establish robust security protocols, manage user permissions and access controls, apply patches, and ensure compliance with data governance regulations.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to support data-driven projects.
• Develop and test comprehensive backup strategies to ensure quick recovery from system failures or data corruption.
• Maintain documentation for Oracle data models, dictionaries, and configurations.
• Provide technical guidance, mentor fellow DBAs, and contribute to strategic database planning.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Over 5 years of DBA experience in enterprise, 24/7 environments; 8+ years preferred for candidates seeking lead roles.
• Significant experience with both Oracle and SQL Server in high-volume, production settings.
• Practical experience with RAC, Data Guard, Always On, clustering, and failover strategies.
• Demonstrated capability in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and scripting (PowerShell, Python, or similar).
• Experience mentoring others, serving as an escalation point, and contributing to database strategy (for lead candidates).
• OCP and/or Microsoft SQL Server/Azure certifications are preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and ability to prioritize tasks in an on-call environment.
• Experience with WMS or supply chain systems is preferred; a general understanding of distribution/logistics environments is beneficial.
