📋 Description

• Utilize your expertise and insights into the Region’s philanthropic environment to develop, nurture, and manage existing donor relationships aimed at enhancing their engagement and contributions.

• Collaborate with the Managing Director to formulate and implement the Regional fundraising strategy to achieve revenue objectives.

• Design a fundraising plan that includes donor meetings, exclusive cultivation events, and program visits to boost major gifts from individuals within the Region.

• Partner with local staff, trustees, senior leadership, and regional advocates to strengthen donor engagement and increase giving levels.

• Participate in a capital campaign focused on enhancing donor participation and elevating contribution amounts.

• Remain informed about our internal research and fundraising opportunities to effectively prepare strategies, proposals, presentations, and briefing materials for donor meetings.

• Cultivate awareness of competing organizations and identify the factors that set Save the Children apart.

• Continuously assess effectiveness and adjust strategies as necessary to meet revenue goals.

• Keep accurate and current donor records in the fundraising database and monitor progress through custom reports.

• Identify and engage potential donors capable of making five-, six-, and seven-figure donations by leveraging in-depth knowledge of the Texas philanthropic landscape and collaborating with the research team to significantly boost regional fundraising revenue.

• Engage local staff, Trustees, senior leadership, and long-term donors in the Region to facilitate introductions to prospective donors.

• Build trusted relationships with donor intermediaries, such as DAFs, wealth advisors, philanthropic consultants, estate planners, and family offices, to gain access to their clientele of high-capacity potential donors in the Region.

• Develop and implement cultivation and solicitation strategies for all identified prospects, including leveraging campaigns, organizing local events and program visits, and scheduling meetings with Save the Children leadership and program specialists.

• Represent Save the Children at key local events and conferences to enhance awareness and expand networks.

• Establish trusted relationships with Save the Children leaders, local staff, Trustees, long-standing donors, and influential community figures while leveraging these connections for networking and cultivation purposes.

• Collaborate closely with colleagues across Marketing & Growth (including those working with corporations and foundations) to establish a strong regional presence and identity for Save the Children in the Region.

• Work with the Planned Giving team to identify and secure estate gifts.

• Partner with the Philanthropy Operations team to customize program-related concept notes, proposals, marketing materials, presentation packages, and other fundraising resources tailored to this donor audience.

• Collaborate as needed with stakeholders across the organization, including marketing and communications, finance, and international programs, all united in the goal of raising support for our mission.

• Promote thought leadership events and opportunities for Save the Children experts to connect with donor interests.

• Serve as a resource for other team members and lead special projects as required.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, along with at least 7 years of relevant experience.

• Proven experience in cultivating donor portfolios and prospecting new donors to enhance revenue.

• Familiarity with and understanding of the Texas philanthropic community and related entities, including DAFs, wealth and philanthropic advisors, estate planners, and family offices.

• A successful history of managing portfolios that yield five-, six-, and seven-figure gifts, including planned giving.

• Knowledge of major gift fundraising moves management.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally.

• Creative thinking skills to develop impactful engagement strategies.

• Proven capability to build strong working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including high-net-worth individuals and families, C-level executives, and advisors.

• Ability to work independently, tackle complex problems, and apply innovative solutions to existing challenges.

• Proven success in special-event fundraising to attract and maintain donor engagement, raising support and awareness.

• Demonstrated ability to work from a dedicated home office, allowing for private and confidential conversations.

• Willingness and ability to travel within the Region, nationally, and occasionally internationally to meet with donors, visit program sites, and engage other stakeholders.

• Strong attention to detail and strategic thinking, along with demonstrated organizational skills and discipline in managing donor information and databases.

• Professional proficiency in the MS Office suite.

• Professional proficiency in both spoken and written English.
