Senior Non-QM Underwriter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct comprehensive manual evaluations of mortgage loan files to assess compliance with company standards, matrices, and procedures.

• Analyze loan risks and request additional documentation when necessary.

• Calculate borrowers' income and evaluate their capacity to fulfill mortgage obligations.

• Review loan conditions upon resubmission.

• Make determinations on loan eligibility by either approving or rejecting loans, properly documenting the loan file, and effectively communicating the decisions to all relevant parties.

• Adhere to company productivity, service level, and turnaround time standards.

• Communicate proficiently with sales teams, business partners (Brokers/NDC Clients), and internal team members.

• Address audits and post-closing issues promptly.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Non-QM, TPO, and/or NDC guidelines and policies.

• Request exceptions and scenarios as required.

• Provide mentorship to operations staff on underwriting deficiencies and calculation mistakes.

• Perform other related tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of prior underwriting experience.

• Experience in Non-QM underwriting is essential.

• A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
