This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Operates independently to identify mainframe z/OS software upgrade necessities to ensure all products remain at current and supported levels as specified by IBM and third-party vendors.
• Organizes and plans all significant software upgrades in collaboration with various Mainframe Technical support teams.
• Establishes resource requirements in partnership with other managers within the Technical Services group to facilitate software and hardware upgrade needs.
• Creates and upholds standards for all Software Infrastructure and Program Products.
• Tracks CPU, Memory, and DASD trends to ensure service levels of supported software are maintained.
• Oversees Project Management for all major product upgrades to guarantee the stability and reliability objectives of the mainframe are met.
• Remains informed about vendor software trends and product release timelines for the z/OS technology software on the IBM mainframe.
• Manages multiple projects, formulates detailed implementation strategies and timelines, and generates regular status updates.
• Engages with management and technical personnel on additional related mainframe software and hardware initiatives.
• Over 10 years of experience with z/OS Mainframe VTAM, SNA, APPN & HPR, and TCP/IP.
• Experience providing large-scale computing infrastructure technical and operational support in a highly technical setting comprising nearly 8 z/OS LPARs.
• Proficient in the implementation, configuration, and support of VTAM, SNA, APPN, and HPR technologies.
• Skilled in the implementation, configuration, and support of mainframe TCP/IP within a z/OS Parallel Sysplex environment.
• Capable of implementing, configuring, and supporting Connect: Direct.
• Experienced in the implementation, configuration, and support of NetView Network Management.
• Knowledgeable in enterprise system communications and file transfer protocols.
• Familiar with enterprise encryption applications and processes, including TCPIP AT/TLS & SSL/TLS.
• Expertise in the implementation, configuration, and support of communications server infrastructure program products.
• Possesses excellent communication abilities, analytical skills, strong judgment, and systems management expertise.
• Demonstrates a collaborative approach that fosters teamwork.
• More than 15 years of relevant technical experience.
• Holds an MS/BS degree or has equivalent professional experience.
