This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Configure, manage, and resolve issues within a diverse fleet of gateways, routers, switches, and access points from various vendors.
• Design, operate, and troubleshoot end-to-end network authentication processes.
• Create scripts and automation solutions for provisioning, configuration management, authentication, and device lifecycle management.
• Develop diagnostic tools and conduct root-cause analysis using packet captures, device logs, and platform telemetry.
• Act as a subject-matter expert for network protocols and devices.
• Convert network behaviors and vendor capabilities into requirements for software platforms.
• Review service interaction designs with network infrastructure.
• Architect, implement, and maintain software systems that interact with network infrastructure progressively.
• Collaborate with development, product management, and UX teams.
• Work cross-functionally on architectural, network-design, and code-design challenges.
• Operate within an Agile framework, utilizing two-week sprints.
• Identify and integrate security requirements while participating in security reviews.
• Document network standards, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to knowledge sharing initiatives.
• Participate in the on-call rotation.
• Perform additional duties as required.
• Over 8 years of practical experience in designing, deploying, operating, and troubleshooting production IP networks.
• Strong expertise in routing, switching, VLANs, NAT, firewalling, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, QoS, and diagnostics across Layers 2–7.
• In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with RADIUS, AAA workflows, 802.1X, EAP methods, and certificate-based authentication.
• Practical experience with routers, switches, gateways, and access points from various manufacturers, including MikroTik, Meraki, Nomadix, Ruckus, and Aruba.
• Proven experience managing extensive fleets of network devices in large-scale, multi-site deployments.
• Programming and scripting skills relevant to network operations, including Python, Bash, RouterOS scripting, and vendor REST APIs.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and experience in a CLI-driven environment.
• Willingness and aptitude to evolve from scripting into software engineering roles.
• Eagerness to learn about version control, code review, automated testing, CI/CD, and cloud services.
• Strong desire to assist in scaling cloud-based services and contribute to the development of new products.
• Experience with large-scale Wi-Fi/WLAN deployments and RF fundamentals is highly preferred.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred.
• Relevant networking certifications are strongly preferred.
• Professional software engineering experience beyond scripting is a plus.
• Familiarity with RESTful API design, Git, CI/CD, AWS Serverless, CloudFormation, containerized services, Python, C#/.NET, or SQL is advantageous.
