Senior Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and support large-scale Azure and AWS network infrastructure for production applications and services.

• Ensure secure and dependable connectivity between Azure, AWS, data centers, external partners, SaaS platforms, and customer-facing services.

• Diagnose routing and connectivity issues across various network platforms.

• Develop, modify, review, and assist in reusable network Infrastructure as Code and deployment workflows.

• Lead network-related projects and architectural initiatives from conception through execution.

• Enhance reliability, scalability, security, automation, and operational efficiency by critically evaluating existing designs and practices.

• Work autonomously on intricate technical projects with minimal direct oversight.

• Maintain network diagrams, architectural documentation, operational procedures, and configuration standards.

• Engage in network incident response, root-cause analysis, problem management, and corrective-action planning.

• Provide support for certificate-related network dependencies, including TLS connectivity, certificate renewal coordination, and troubleshooting.

• Collaborate with Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, Security, and application teams to boost network reliability, scalability, automation, security, and observability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Azure networking.

• Familiarity with Azure VNets, routing, NSGs, Private Endpoints, Private DNS, VPNs, ExpressRoute, load balancing, and hybrid connectivity.

• Ability to independently troubleshoot complex Azure network and application connectivity challenges.

• Practical experience utilizing Infrastructure as Code for provisioning, modifying, and managing cloud infrastructure.

• Knowledge of version-controlled infrastructure workflows, code review, repeatability, and configuration management.

• Significant experience in supporting networks that directly serve production applications, customer-facing services, or business-critical systems.

• Strong understanding of application traffic flows, load balancing, firewalls, DNS, routing, latency, availability, and service dependencies.

• Experience in troubleshooting and incident response participation.

• Hands-on experience with Terraform for cloud networking and infrastructure provisioning.

• Experience in creating or modifying reusable Terraform modules.

• Familiarity with Git-based CI/CD and infrastructure deployment workflows.

• Ability to effectively utilize AI while maintaining engineering review and validation.

• Experience in interpreting complex network architectures and documenting them accurately.

• Experience in leading technically complex network or infrastructure initiatives.

• Proven ability to independently manage engineering initiatives from requirements through implementation.

• Experience with Fortinet FortiGate, Palo Alto Networks, or similar firewall platforms.

• Strong understanding of firewall policy design, segmentation, NAT, VPNs, traffic inspection, logging, and troubleshooting.

• Experience with enterprise routers and switches in production settings.

• Solid understanding of BGP, OSPF, VLANs, trunks, Layer 2/Layer 3 design, route redistribution, and high-availability network design.

• Experience integrating physical data-center networks with cloud environments.

• Experience with Cloudflare DNS, WAF, load balancing, and edge-networking capabilities.

• Experience with Datadog or similar observability platforms, including network monitoring, infrastructure monitoring, dashboards, alerting, log correlation, or APM troubleshooting.

• Participation in production network incident response and root-cause analysis is essential.

• Experience supporting TLS/SSL certificates and certificate-dependent infrastructure.

• Familiarity with certificate lifecycle management, renewals, trust chains, certificate authorities, and certificate-related connectivity troubleshooting.
