Senior Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Address and resolve advanced incidents concerning network and infrastructure performance.

• Oversee and maintain the health, stability, and performance of global network systems.

• Conduct regular diagnostics and health assessments to proactively detect and address potential issues.

• Implement controlled infrastructure modifications (e.g., firewall rules, switch configurations, BGP updates) in accordance with change management protocols.

• Guarantee consistent network performance through route validation, traffic management, and congestion control.

• Enhance and maintain monitoring and logging systems to ensure comprehensive visibility of network components.

• Work in collaboration with external partners (e.g., peering/transit providers) to diagnose routing problems and optimize bandwidth utilization.

• Participate in an on-call rotation to assist with critical incidents outside of regular business hours.

• Provide support and mentorship to NOC team members on intricate troubleshooting scenarios.

• Record incidents, changes, and operational procedures in compliance with governance standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in a live network environment (e.g., ISP, hosting, fintech, or enterprise settings).

• Extensive hands-on expertise in routing, switching, and firewall troubleshooting within a 24/7 operational context.

• Strong understanding of network protocols, including BGP and OSPF.

• Familiarity with VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL) and fundamental network security principles.

• Knowledge of Linux systems (e.g., routing, iptables, tunneling).

• Proficient in network monitoring tools (e.g., LibreNMS, Zabbix, or similar).

• Experience with change control and operational governance processes.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong communication skills with the capability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
