Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Build and enhance – Design, implement, and optimize Layer 2/3 networks (Cisco/Meraki, Dell, Palo Alto) across data center, laboratory, and office settings.

• Operate at scale – Sustain high-capacity connections (10 GbE – 100 GbE), routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and firewall configurations to achieve stringent latency and uptime objectives.

• Automate first – Utilize Ansible, Python, or Terraform to convert repetitive tasks into reproducible playbooks and CI/CD workflows.

• Incident first-responder – Perform tri-level troubleshooting (physical, logical, cloud edge) for P1/P2 incidents; participate in a 24×7 on-call rotation.

• Document and share – Keep diagrams, runbooks, and change logs up to date so that the broader Ops and SRE teams can operate efficiently.

• Security-focused – Collaborate with InfoSec to strengthen configurations, manage certificates/keys, and address vulnerabilities through switch upgrades. Understand the differences between cables/fibers and various connector types.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience in enterprise/data center networking; familiarity with Cisco/Meraki, Dell, Palo Alto firewalls & Cisco WLCs.

• Profound knowledge of L2/L3 (Ethernet, VLAN, STP, BGP/OSPF), VPN, and firewall technologies.

• Automation skills: Proficient in Python, Ansible/Terraform (or similar tools).

• Cloud experience: AWS/Azure/GCP (VPC, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute, TGW).

• Self-motivated, effective communicator, and adept at creating documentation/runbooks.

• Bonus certifications: CCNA/CCNP/PCNSE.
