This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Act as the primary line of defense for all network-related incidents, offering round-the-clock support for both production and corporate networks.
• Diagnose layer 1-3 issues while maintaining WAN, BGP, ISIS, LAN, FHRP, VLAN, STP, and associated services.
• Proactively monitor the health of the production network, evaluate potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure rapid service restoration.
• Provide customer-focused support through various communication channels.
• Develop and revise standard operating procedures (SOPs) for managing network changes, issue analysis, and mitigation techniques.
• Install, configure, and maintain a variety of network hosts and services, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN endpoints.
• Conduct network maintenance and upgrades, typically during regular working hours but occasionally in the evening or on weekends.
• Troubleshoot network issues and outages effectively.
• Engage in global production and corporate network operations, covering edge, backbone, data center, POP, and content delivery network (CDN) infrastructure.
• Manage multiple vendor switches across various servers while addressing hardware and software issues.
• Handle traffic and respond to queries raised by ISPs and partners.
• Provide support for incidents such as input errors, CRC issues, RMA, etc.
• Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from an accredited four-year college or university, along with 2 to 5 years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of routing, switching, server operating systems, active directory, firewalls, wireless controllers, DNS, email, virtual machines, and software applications.
• Ability to build effective internal and external working relationships.
• Demonstrated judgment within established procedures and practices to decide on appropriate actions.
• Familiarity with content delivery networks and internet peering strategies.
• Knowledge of server hardware technologies pertinent to content delivery performance and capacity.
