Senior Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and develop enterprise routing and switching solutions tailored for campus, branch, headquarters, and data center settings.

• Create scalable Layer 2 and Layer 3 network architectures that ensure high availability, resilience, and business continuity.

• Spearhead infrastructure refreshes, migrations, consolidations, and modernization projects.

• Produce comprehensive high-level and low-level design documentation, implementation strategies, and operational procedures.

• Establish technical standards, design best practices, and deployment methodologies.

• Implement and support enterprise routing technologies, including OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, route redistribution, and policy-based routing.

• Configure and troubleshoot switching technologies such as VLANs, STP, RSTP, MST, EtherChannel, LACP, HSRP, VRRP, and multicast.

• Conduct network performance analysis, optimization, and capacity planning.

• Provide support for highly available enterprise network environments across various customer locations.

• Design and maintain modern data center networking solutions using Cisco Nexus platforms, VXLAN EVPN fabrics, Spine-Leaf architectures, and Data Center Interconnect (DCI).

• Engage in data center migration, modernization, and expansion efforts.

• Support UCS-integrated environments and virtualized infrastructure platforms.

• Deploy resilient networking solutions that accommodate mission-critical workloads.

• Design and implement enterprise WAN solutions utilizing Aruba EdgeConnect (Silver Peak), Cisco SD-WAN, and Meraki SD-WAN.

• Enhance application performance, WAN resilience, and branch connectivity.

• Support MPLS, DIA, Internet, and hybrid WAN architectures.

• Collaborate with security teams to develop secure enterprise networking solutions.

• Integrate security technologies including Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Cisco Firepower, and Check Point.

• Implement network segmentation, VPN, NAC, and Zero Trust initiatives.

• Assist with security assessments, remediation efforts, and best-practice implementations.

• Design and support enterprise wireless solutions using Cisco, Aruba, and Meraki platforms.

• Conduct wireless assessments, optimization, and troubleshooting.

• Design and support hybrid cloud networking solutions utilizing AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, Transit Gateway, and Virtual Network connectivity.

• Support customers in cloud migration and hybrid networking projects.

• Act as the senior escalation point for complex networking incidents and technical challenges.

• Perform advanced troubleshooting across routing, switching, wireless, WAN, security, and cloud technologies.

• Conduct root cause analysis and document corrective measures.

• Lead technical workshops, design reviews, and customer planning sessions.

• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering technical excellence throughout the organization.

• Collaborate with Sales and Solution Architects to assist in pre-sales activities, technical validation, and solution development.

• Participate in scheduled maintenance windows, upgrades, and change management initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8–15 years of experience in enterprise network engineering.

• In-depth knowledge of enterprise routing and switching technologies.

• Proven experience in designing and implementing Cisco-based enterprise networking solutions.

• Hands-on expertise with Cisco Catalyst and Cisco Nexus platforms.

• Familiarity with enterprise wireless networking solutions.

• Experience in integrating networking and security technologies.

• Demonstrated success in leading enterprise infrastructure deployments, migrations, and modernization efforts.

• Exceptional troubleshooting skills and operational support capabilities.

• Strong customer-facing consulting and communication abilities.

• Experience mentoring engineers and guiding technical teams.
