Senior Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and oversee network infrastructure in both cloud and on-premises settings.

• Implement and sustain routing architectures such as BGP, OSPF, route policies, and peering strategies.

• Manage and facilitate hybrid networking, including VPNs, Direct Connect, and inter-region routing.

• Administer and configure Cisco networking equipment.

• Create network automation solutions utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible).

• Establish network security measures, including segmentation, firewall policies, and access management.

• Engage in capacity planning, performance optimization, and traffic analysis activities.

• Contribute to incident response efforts and root cause analysis for network-related disruptions.

• Oversee ISP connectivity, encompassing transit providers, private circuits, and carrier partnerships.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in network engineering positions.

• Relevant experience or certification (e.g., CCNP or JNCIP in Data Center, Enterprise, or Service Provider).

• In-depth understanding of BGP, OSPF, routing policies, and network troubleshooting techniques.

• Strong grasp of TCP/IP, DNS, NAT, routing, switching, and load balancing concepts.

• Practical experience with Cisco networking platforms.

• Capability to diagnose layer 2 issues (ARP, MAC address tables, LACP, and MC-LAG).

• Proficiency in troubleshooting DNS-related challenges.

• Familiarity with standard network cabling practices.

• Experience with Kubernetes CNI (Calico, Cilium).

• Knowledge of Cloud & Hybrid Networking.

• Experience in hybrid cloud networking, including site-to-site VPNs and private connectivity options (AWS Direct Connect, GCP Interconnect).

• Understanding of cloud-native networking services (VPC, Transit Gateway, Cloud Router).

• Proficiency in Automation & Infrastructure-as-Code.

• Working knowledge of Terraform for network infrastructure deployment.

• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible or similar).

• Knowledge of Observability & Operations.

• Experience in implementing network monitoring and alerting systems.

• Understanding of network performance metrics and logging techniques.

• Capability to create and maintain runbooks and documentation.

• Security expertise.

• Experience in establishing network security controls and segmentation.

• Understanding of firewall management and security policy frameworks.

• Familiarity with concepts related to network access control.
