Senior Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design and execute enterprise-level network solutions tailored for small to mid-sized enterprises.

• Collaborate with project leads and managers to ensure solutions are delivered within the scope and set milestones.

• Conduct wireless site surveys and implement secure wireless networking solutions.

• Architect, configure, and provide support for advanced routing and switching using enterprise-grade platforms.

• Deploy and oversee next-generation firewalls and VPN solutions.

• Offer escalation support to internal teams.

• Diagnose and resolve critical infrastructure challenges.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including intricate Visio diagrams and client network records.

• Comply with and enhance network design and implementation standards for clients.

• Engage in training and certification programs to remain updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.

• Manage complex networking projects from the requirements gathering phase to completion.

• Provide expert-level consultation regarding network design and security best practices.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience with enterprise networking hardware and software.

• At least 5 years of experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in wireless design, analysis, and implementation.

• Demonstrated experience in conducting wireless site surveys.

• Expert knowledge of OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP protocols.

• Extensive experience with Cisco Nexus (3k/7k/9k), Cisco Meraki, Palo Alto, and HP/Aruba networking devices.

• Proficient in WAN and VPN technologies, including MPLS, DMVPN, IPSec VPN, and EVPL.

• Strong foundation in network segmentation, security, and virtualization.

• Experience with firewall solutions such as SonicWALL, Meraki, Ubiquity, and Palo Alto.

• Familiarity with load balancing solutions.

• Advanced understanding of routing protocol redistribution and routing metric manipulation.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Visio.

• Prior consulting experience in a managed services context is highly encouraged.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

• A university degree and/or related technical diploma is preferred.

• Cisco and Palo Alto certifications are strongly recommended.

• Wireless certifications are highly encouraged.

• Flexibility to work adjusted schedules, including evenings and weekends, as required.

• Must be able to work from home or a remote location.
