Senior Network and Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, maintain, and support the enterprise network infrastructure for various MSP clients.

• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco ASA, Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD), and Fortinet FortiGate firewalls.

• Deploy and provide support for Cisco Meraki SD-WAN solutions across distributed environments.

• Configure and resolve issues related to BGP, MPLS, and advanced routing protocols.

• Oversee MPLS VRF environments to ensure secure network segmentation and connectivity.

• Set up and support Cisco Nexus switches, including Virtual Port Channel (vPC) technologies.

• Monitor network performance and proactively identify potential capacity or security issues.

• Conduct advanced troubleshooting for LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless, firewall, and routing challenges.

• Engage in infrastructure migrations, upgrades, and client onboarding projects.

• Address escalated incidents while adhering to SLA requirements.

• Execute root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions.

• Create and update technical documentation, network diagrams, and standard operating procedures.

• Collaborate with Systems Engineers, Security Engineers, and client IT teams to enhance infrastructure.

• Participate in an on-call rotation as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical experience as a Network Engineer in an MSP or enterprise setting.

• Extensive experience managing multiple customer environments concurrently.

• In-depth expertise in enterprise routing and switching.

• Practical experience with Cisco ASA Firewall.

• Familiarity with Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD).

• Proficient in Fortinet FortiGate.

• Hands-on experience with Cisco Meraki SD-WAN.

• Knowledge of Cisco Nexus Switching.

• Experience with Nexus vPC.

• Proficient in BGP.

• Familiarity with MPLS.

• Experience managing MPLS VRF.

• Strong troubleshooting capabilities across Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking.

• Experience configuring VPN technologies, including Site-to-Site and Remote Access VPNs.

• Knowledge of network monitoring and performance analysis tools.

• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Ability to work independently in a dynamic MSP environment.

• Preferred: Experience with enterprise data center networking.

• Experience in cloud networking (Azure and AWS).

• Familiarity with supporting multi-site WAN environments.

• Knowledge of network automation or scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Ansible).

• Experience with Cisco ISE, Cisco DNA Center, or Cisco ACI.

• Understanding of ITIL processes and change management.
