This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and manage products and native cloud services tailored for automating the application development lifecycle across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI.
• Implement best practices and services among various cloud service providers to ensure seamless integration within the customer’s hybrid cloud enterprise.
• Collaborate with cloud, security, testing, and application teams to construct orchestration pipelines.
• Create, support, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that facilitate multiple deployments each day.
• Initiate and engage in feedback loops to foster continuous improvement.
• Regularly meet with application teams to offer assistance and pinpoint optimization opportunities.
• Act as the primary technical contact and subject matter expert for managed applications.
• Cultivate expertise in CMS Hybrid Cloud and CMS Enterprise Shared Service offerings.
• Establish connections with other CMS Hybrid Cloud Product Teams.
• Continuously update infrastructure components, including EC2 instances, CloudFormation stacks, Kubernetes clusters, and containers.
• Advocate for quality control practices and uphold comprehensive documentation.
• Resolve highly complex technical issues independently.
• Provide guidance on and create innovative solutions across diverse cloud environments.
• Lead other technical staff and influence the strategic goals of projects and programs.
• Collaborate with technical resources across vendors and represent the program in meetings with Application Development Organizations.
• Identify support, modernization, and innovation opportunities for applications.
• Proficient in multiple cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, and GCP; OCI experience is an advantage.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with cloud-based security tools, best practices, and policies, ensuring protection across all application-stack layers.
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience with cloud technologies, cloud services, infrastructure as code, cloud storage, cloud networking, and cloud security.
• Proficiency in package management tools such as rpm, pip, dnf, and yum.
• Experience in container build and orchestration using Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, AKS, and Docker.
• Knowledge of operating system setup and best practices for RHEL, AL2, AL23, and Windows.
• Familiarity with build tools like Jenkins and GitHub.
• Experience with CI/CD tools including SonarQube, Snyk, and JFrog.
• Proficiency in dependency management using Maven.
• Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Git.
• Experience with Cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings.
• Familiarity with FISMA-compliant systems.
• Relevant certifications in AWS, GCP, and Azure technologies, along with experience in designing and delivering native cloud services.
• Proficient with AWS CloudWatch; Azure Application Insights, Monitor, Log Analytics, and Monitor Metrics; and GCP Cloud Operations.
• Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP CLI, shell languages like Bash and PowerShell, and programming languages such as Python, Golang, and Rust.
• Knowledge of containers including Docker, ECS, EKS, AKS, and ACI/ACA; serverless Lambda; and VM architectures such as VMware/Hyper-V and KVM.
• Experience in bootstrapping and automating complete environment builds.
• Excellent writing, verbal communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage conflict and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated team player with accountability and integrity.
• US Citizenship is mandatory.
• Eligibility to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
• Candidates supporting CMS programs must have resided in the United States for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
• Bachelor’s degree with 12–15 years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with 10–13 years; a doctorate in a technical domain may also be considered.
• Preferred qualifications include current multiple-cloud certifications, experience with challenging customers, Agile/Scrum knowledge, and familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and CMS security and compliance.
