Senior Mobile Software Engineer – Android

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop, construct, and sustain the native Android application utilizing Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.

• Implement features from technical design through to release and subsequent iterations post-launch.

• Oversee the Android release process, which includes signing, App Bundles, Play Console tracks, staged rollouts, pre-launch reports, and managing crash and ANR triage.

• Apply best practices in Android development, including code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD.

• Integrate mini-apps, payment systems, and virtual currency frameworks within the Xsolla App ecosystem.

• Collaborate with teams across product, design, backend, QA, project management, iOS, and React Native.

• Architect scalable Android solutions with a focus on maintainability, performance, and developer experience.

• Lead decisions regarding modularization, dependency injection, navigation, and state management.

• Enhance Gradle builds and manage a Compose component library and design system.

• Set coding standards, design patterns, and mobile best practices.

• Produce technical specifications and architecture documentation.

• Promote mobile observability through structured logging, crash monitoring, performance tracing, and health dashboards for releases.

• Utilize AI coding agents in daily tasks and establish protocols for prompting, reviewing, verifying, evaluating, and overseeing AI-generated code.

• Guide engineers in AI-assisted development and Android engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in Android development.

• Extensive hands-on knowledge of Kotlin.

• Demonstrated history of releasing commercial Android applications currently available on Google Play.

• Proficient in Jetpack Compose, Coroutines and Flow, Lifecycle, Room, WorkManager, and Navigation.

• Strong grasp of MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture, dependency injection, and state management.

• Familiarity with JUnit, Compose UI tests, Espresso, Robolectric, and CI/CD processes for Android release pipelines.

• Experience with Android Studio Profiler, Macrobenchmark, and Baseline Profiles.

• Capability to build applications for diverse device and OS-version environments, including large-screen and foldable devices.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Proven daily engagement with AI coding agents and AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor.

• Experience with third-party integrations, REST/GraphQL APIs, and mobile SDK utilization.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
