Senior Mobile SDK Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of Canary’s mobile SDKs (iOS and/or Android) that enhance guest and staff experiences for major hotel brands.

• Develop exceptional developer experiences through clear APIs, comprehensive samples, documentation, and upgrade pathways.

• Design and implement features and UI components for our proprietary staff applications, emphasizing reliability and performance.

• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to define, prioritize, and deliver customer-focused projects.

• Work alongside Backend and Platform teams to establish mobile-server agreements and ensure observability.

• Set up SDK versioning, release protocols, and manage semantic changes effectively.

• Enhance code quality through rigorous testing, automation, and strategic architecture.

• Engage in code reviews and provide mentorship to fellow engineers.

• Champion operational excellence by overseeing monitoring, logging, crash analytics, and on-call readiness.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in developing mobile applications or SDKs for iOS or Android, with significant expertise in Swift or Kotlin.

• Demonstrated track record in designing, launching, and maintaining public SDKs utilized by external developers.

• Strong understanding of API design, modular architecture, semantic versioning, and strategies for backward compatibility.

• Proficient in mobile fundamentals, including networking, concurrency, persistence, security, and performance enhancement.

• Familiarity with mobile package managers and build systems (Swift Package Manager, CocoaPods, Gradle/Maven, Xcode Cloud, fastlane, or similar CI tools).

• Commitment to quality: experience with unit and UI testing, automation, crash analytics, and best practices in observability.

• Exceptional written communication abilities to create samples and documentation that facilitate quick and easy integration.

• A proactive self-starter who excels in uncertain environments and collaborates effectively with Product to drive business results.
