This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections at an expert level.
• Safely locate, start, move, inspect, and return vehicles on the dealer/client lot.
• Verify vehicle identification and accurately input vehicle details into the inspection system, ensuring correct VIN, mileage, and sub-series.
• Inspect vehicle equipment and options, documenting findings, including any damage, missing, or non-functional items.
• Assess and record the exterior condition of the vehicle, covering aspects such as tires, frame, glass, panels, and mechanical components.
• Evaluate and document the interior condition of the vehicle, including seats, dashboard, and options.
• Conduct basic mechanical checks on vehicles, focusing on powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components.
• Assist junior mobile inspectors in navigating more complex inspections and client interactions.
• Prepare and submit daily activity reports to management.
• Adapt to changes in daily appointments to maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of each dealer visit.
• Build strong knowledge of clients in the territory and collaborate with partners to keep them engaged with Manheim mobile inspections through consistent, proactive updates on lot engagement.
• Gather data and insights from partners and leverage them to maximize the volume of units inspected on dealer lots.
• Serve as a brand ambassador for Cox Automotive, delivering a premier client experience by regularly interfacing with core clients and ensuring their satisfaction.
• Function as a reliable team player, working closely with the Wholesale Specialist team, peers, and other Manheim workgroups and auctions.
• Utilize SalesForce.com for reporting, lead input, and customer performance reviews.
• Understand the NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy.
• Operate in a continuous improvement/Lean environment and be encouraged to foster a lean culture.
• Meet production expectations set by leadership.
• Demonstrate a visible commitment to safety by adhering to all safety and health procedures and modeling related behaviors.
• Actively participate in all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of experience in a related field.
• Alternatively, candidates may possess a different combination, such as any level of degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and 3 years of experience.
• OR 7 years of experience in a related field.
• Safe drivers are required; a valid driver’s license is mandatory.
• 100% travel is required; reliable transportation is essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
• Strong technical aptitude is required.
• Must possess a keen attention to detail.
• Experience with handheld and other documentation devices is preferred.
• Must be motivated to work independently with remote supervision.
• Ability to multitask, follow directions, and take instruction is essential.
• Knowledge of body, paint, and mechanical repair is beneficial.
• Familiarity with unibody and full-frame vehicles is advantageous.
