Senior Mobile Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

• Take charge and be accountable for mobile features from initial idea to production, providing top-notch experiences across our mobile platform.

• Rapidly build and iterate by segmenting tasks into manageable, shippable increments, utilizing modern tools (including AI) to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

• Work collaboratively with your team to design scalable solutions, engage in insightful code reviews, and continually refine our development practices.

• Ensure quality in shipping, where testing, performance, and reliability are integral parts of your workflow, not just afterthoughts.

• Elevate standards by mentoring peers and assisting in the evolution of our engineering practices, tools, and methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in developing and deploying production mobile applications, demonstrating clear ownership of features from concept through to production.

• Extensive knowledge in one of the following areas:

• React Native, TypeScript, and contemporary JavaScript mobile architectures, or

• Native Android development utilizing Kotlin and modern Android frameworks.

• Strong grasp of mobile system design, including networking, offline capabilities, caching strategies, and performance enhancement.

• Experience in designing and integrating reliable RESTful APIs, emphasizing reliability and scalability.

• Solid background in automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, release management, and production monitoring.

• Proficient in navigating large, complex codebases and driving enhancements in code quality, architecture, and developer experience.

• Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Sentry, Grafana, or similar) to actively monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production systems.

• Excellent communicator capable of mentoring junior developers, delivering insightful code reviews, and influencing technical direction.

• Proven track record of thriving in fast-paced, agile environments, deconstructing complex challenges, and driving execution with minimal oversight.
