
Senior Medical Science Liaison – West Division

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Build and sustain strategic partnerships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), academic institutions, community oncology practices, and health systems to promote awareness of the company’s diagnostic offerings.
• Create, revise, and present scientific and medical education materials (such as slide decks, abstracts, manuscripts, and clinical data presentations) to healthcare professionals and relevant stakeholders, ensuring precise and effective communication of new scientific evidence and clinical relevance.
• Direct and coordinate scientific engagement at academic and professional events, including national and regional congresses, symposia, grand rounds, and continuing medical education (CME) programs, ensuring alignment with unmet clinical needs and organizational goals.
• Act as a subject matter expert for internal cross-functional teams (including commercial, market access, clinical development, and marketing) by offering insights on clinical relevance, biomarker strategies, competitive landscape, and evolving care standards.
• Provide consistent scientific updates and educational briefings to internal stakeholders through presentations and cross-functional meetings to maintain alignment on new evidence and medical strategy.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to discover opportunities for strategic KOL engagement, including educational initiatives, clinical research collaborations, and outreach to healthcare systems, academic institutions, health systems, and payer stakeholders to foster appropriate product adoption.
• Lead Medical Affairs initiatives for Clinical Advisory Boards, including strategic planning, scientific agenda creation, and facilitation of expert discussions.
• Ensure that insights from advisory boards are documented and transformed into actionable medical and business strategies.
• Identify chances to derive valuable scientific insights through interactions with KOLs, focus groups, and advisory meetings, aiding in informing medical strategy, clinical development priorities, and product innovation.
• Maintain extensive scientific knowledge in oncology care pathways, including cancer patient management algorithms, molecular testing strategies, and the clinical relevance of laboratory-developed tests (LDTs) and biomarker-driven diagnostics.
• Address complex medical and scientific inquiries from healthcare providers and internal stakeholders promptly, accurately, and in compliance, ensuring proper documentation in customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
• Assist in the generation and distribution of scientific evidence, including collaborating on research projects, abstract creation, and manuscript preparation for peer-reviewed journals and scientific conferences.
• Capture and relay voice-of-customer (VOC) insights from the field to guide medical strategy, product development, and cross-functional decision-making.
• Travel extensively within the designated territory, with additional travel to national meetings and other events as required (75%).
• Execute other duties as assigned to support the objectives of Medical Affairs and organizational goals.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in biotechnology, diagnostics, or the pharmaceutical sector, accompanied by a PhD or PharmD.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison in a diagnostics, biotech, pharmaceutical, or other life sciences organization, with a PhD or PharmD in oncology or precision oncology.
• Proven track record in cultivating advocates for the company's products.
• Utilizes advanced knowledge of the biotechnology, diagnostics, and pharmaceutical sectors to further the medical and scientific goals of our company.
• Subject matter expertise in cancer genomics.
• Familiarity with biomarker and therapeutic development.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, time management capabilities, and personal initiative.
