Senior Medical Science Liaison – Retina

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Provide assistance for REGENXBIO's pre-commercial clinical trials and scientific collaborations, particularly within our Retina program.

β€’ Aid in the recruitment for clinical trials and outreach to sites; relay coordinated feedback to the Clinical Operations, Clinical Development, and Ophthalmology Core teams.

β€’ Act as the field-based Medical Affairs representative to build and nurture scientific relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs).

β€’ Acquire a deep understanding of clinical practices related to ophthalmology.

β€’ Engage in the refinement of KOL mapping; create and implement a customer-focused tactical engagement plan to bolster Medical Affairs strategies.

β€’ Collect and disseminate scientific insights through scientific exchanges to inform actionable and innovative Medical Affairs strategies.

β€’ Serve as a resource for addressing unsolicited medical inquiries regarding REGENXBIO's trials and investigational products.

β€’ Offer clinical expertise in the creation, management, and upkeep of clinical and scientific communications, including educational materials, meeting presentations, and FAQs.

β€’ Attend medical conferences as a Medical Affairs representative: assist with congress strategy and planning, staff the medical booth, gather competitive intelligence and insights, and generate meeting summaries.

β€’ Support Patient Advocacy conferences and outreach efforts as needed.

β€’ As this is a field-based role, the ability to travel 50-70% of the time is required.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ A Master's degree (MPH or equivalent) is mandatory; Doctorate level (MD, OD, PharmD, PhD) is preferred.

β€’ At least 3 years of clinical or therapeutic experience in ophthalmology or retinal diseases, and/or gene therapy, with a primary focus on field-based scientific exchange and/or clinical trial support.

β€’ Excellent communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills.

β€’ Capability to quickly assimilate new clinical data.

β€’ Proactive problem-solving abilities.

β€’ Skills in project management and medical writing.

β€’ Flexibility, resilience, and creativity/innovation in work.

β€’ Ability to organize and lead high-level projects.

β€’ Capacity to anticipate issues and resolve problems proactively.

β€’ Proficient in collaborating with cross-functional teams.
