Senior Medical Science Liaison – Psychiatry/Neurology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Engages with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare decision-makers in the fields of psychiatry and neurology to promote the scientific foundation.

• Assists with both company-sponsored and investigator-initiated research initiatives.

• Delivers presentations on clinical and pharmaco-economic topics to payers.

• Provides training for faculty involved in the speaker’s bureau.

• Supports scientific congresses and serves as a resource for medical and scientific inquiries.

• Analyzes and interprets available data (e.g., congress presentations, KOL interactions, posters) to offer clinical insights into the evolving therapeutic landscape.

• Conducts all responsibilities while adhering to the highest ethical standards, including FDA guidelines, healthcare compliance requirements/SOPs, and industry best practices.

• Guides and mentors junior colleagues, exemplifying innovation and excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• PharmD or PhD in a health science discipline AND a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in an equivalent field-based role is required, with 2+ years in the CNS therapeutic area preferred OR an MD/DO Degree AND at least 2 years of related experience.

• Proactively identifies business and industry challenges; suggests relevant process, technical, or service enhancements.

• Exhibits comprehensive expertise or specialized knowledge.

• Recognized as an expert within the organization and may maintain an external presence in their area of expertise.

• Utilizes extensive knowledge in their field and a broad understanding of related areas to enhance team efficiency.

• Capable of functioning as part of and leading multiple teams.

• Possesses strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, often leading junior members and/or indirect teams.

• Demonstrates excellent computer proficiency.

• Exhibits strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical thinking skills.

• Capable of managing multiple deadlines across various projects/programs with high accuracy and efficiency.

• Exhibits strong project management and leadership skills.

• Proficient in territory management and execution of scientific leader communication strategies.

• Demonstrated ability to build robust business relationships with healthcare professionals, key decision-makers, and other internal and external collaborators is required.

• Proven track record of achieving individual goals, enhancing therapeutic knowledge, and continuously improving skills and abilities relevant to job expectations.

• Strong understanding of drug development and life-cycle management of a product is preferred.

• Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare compliance requirements and regulatory trends that directly and indirectly affect field medical practices.
