Senior Medical Editor – Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Edit copy and ensure adherence to regulatory standards for both branded and unbranded marketing and promotional materials intended for healthcare professionals (HCP) and patients, across digital and print platforms.

• Conduct fact-checking and proofreading of existing content to tailor it for new channels and target audiences.

• Provide medical, regulatory, and legal insights to guarantee consistency and precision in line with FDA regulations, internal style guidelines, and brand standards.

• Perform copy editing on promotional materials to correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors.

• Verify references to ensure they are up-to-date and meet established reference criteria.

• Prepare jobs for Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) submission using Veeva.

• Collaborate with project managers, account managers, designers, copywriters, and other freelance editors as required.

• Ensure brand alignment while assisting other editors when necessary.

• Handle multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment.

• Take a proactive role in maintaining the quality of copywriting and ensuring regulatory compliance.

• Report to the Manager of Editorial.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, journalism, or life sciences.

• Over 5 years of experience editing pharmaceutical promotional materials within an agency setting.

• Portfolio showcasing experience in medical/pharma writing.

• Proficiency in anchoring/linking within Veeva.

• Experience across various therapeutic areas and product launches is advantageous.

• Candidates should be available to work evenings and some weekends to support product launches.
