This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the development and enhancement of industrial thermal-fluid systems with a keen focus on buildability, operability, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Contribute to and enhance P&IDs, system layouts, piping designs, mechanical configurations, and equipment specifications.
• Produce CAD models, assemblies, and drawings as necessary, rather than solely reviewing them.
• Thoroughly examine prints, layouts, and design packages to identify issues before they progress to fabrication or field implementation.
• Collaborate across process, mechanical, electrical, controls, and field aspects instead of limiting oneself to a single discipline.
• Create technical specifications for major mechanical equipment and associated components.
• Manage aspects of the design process from initial concept through vendor engagement, detailed design, fabrication, and feedback from the field.
• Work closely with suppliers and fabricators to clarify requirements, review designs, respond to RFIs, and make informed decisions on open engineering questions.
• Recognize opportunities to standardize or automate elements of the design process, including engineering tools, design workflows, drawing generation, or CAD processes.
• Elevate the technical proficiency of the team through thorough reviews, logical reasoning, and high standards while maintaining a focus on efficiency and practicality.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Over 8 years of relevant experience in industrial equipment, process equipment, thermal-fluid systems, energy systems, rotating equipment, or related product development.
• Strong foundational knowledge in mechanical engineering encompassing piping, pressure vessels, materials, heat exchangers, rotating equipment, skidded systems, bearings, and fabrication.
• Expertise in creating and modifying P&IDs and translating system intent into functional hardware.
• Proficient CAD skills, preferably in SolidWorks, including the capability to create models and drawings directly.
• Strong instincts for print review with the ability to identify issues, inconsistencies, and poor assumptions in mechanical design packages.
• Capability to make sound engineering judgments in ambiguous, first-of-a-kind, or interdisciplinary contexts.
• Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with engineers, vendors, fabricators, and leadership.
• Willingness to work with tangible hardware, real-world constraints, and actual operational challenges.
• Flexible PTO.
• Stock options.
• Medical, dental, and 401k benefits.
