Senior Mechanical, Plumbing Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Assist in preconstruction activities for intricate HVAC and plumbing projects.

• Create precise takeoffs while coordinating with vendors and subcontractors.

• Oversee bid documentation and facilitate the estimating process from initial plans to final submission.

• Conduct quantity takeoffs and cost assessments for mechanical, plumbing, and sheet metal systems.

• Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents for complex projects.

• Employ AutoBid software for estimating mechanical and sheet metal components.

• Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure pricing and clarify scope.

• Generate bid proposals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and submittal documentation.

• Manage revisions to estimates and assist with ongoing preconstruction tasks.

• Work closely with internal project teams throughout the bidding phase.

• Engage in daily workflows, meetings, and systems as an integral part of the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience in construction estimating.

• Proficient in English communication skills, both written and spoken.

• At least 8 years of estimating experience in mechanical and plumbing construction, or

• A minimum of 2-3 years of estimating experience with notable exposure to complex plan and specification projects, including chilled water systems, hospitals, and intricate mechanical/plumbing installations.

• Required proficiency in AutoBid for estimating mechanical and sheet metal systems.

• Experience in developing detailed estimates, bid packages, RFIs, and preconstruction documentation.

• Solid understanding of mechanical and plumbing construction methods, materials, and pricing.

• Capability to work independently while remaining highly collaborative in a remote team setting.
