This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Assist in the development of proposals by generating deliverable lists, estimating engineering hours, and offering mechanical engineering insights.
• Act as the lead mechanical engineer on medium to large-scale projects.
• Create project deliverables, oversee junior mechanical engineering staff, and collaborate with other disciplines.
• Generate P&IDs, plans for equipment locations, piping layouts, piping isometric drawings, specifications for piping materials, lists of equipment, piping line lists, specialty item lists, and scopes of work for construction.
• Collaborate with project management and other disciplines regarding design tasks, scope modifications, engineering budgets, and scheduling constraints.
• Execute and verify engineering calculations, which include equipment sizing, hydraulic assessments, and pipe stress evaluations.
• Aid in equipment procurement by preparing specifications, data sheets, quotes, technical bid comparisons, and reviewing vendor data.
• Occasionally visit sites for proposals, project inspections, field data gathering, design validation, and construction assistance.
• Support project model development and system arrangement.
• Assist the Chief Mechanical Engineer in distributing workload and planning manpower needs.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership to developing engineers.
• BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline with 8 years of relevant experience or proven equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• Knowledge of design, industrial processes, and energy-related projects.
• Experience in industrial and/or energy sectors.
• Familiarity with industry codes and standards, including API, ASME, PIP, ANSI, and ASTM.
• Proficiency with engineering calculation software tools such as Pipe-Flo, Applied Flow Technology Fathom, and CAESAR II.
