This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Establish Wolf Games' Marketing Function. You will be responsible for developing the marketing strategy and operating model for Wolf Games from scratch. This includes defining the company's brand positioning, go-to-market strategy, and marketing systems, which will serve as the foundation for how Wolf interacts with players, partners, and the wider industry. You will set priorities, create repeatable processes, and lay the groundwork for a marketing organization that scales with the business.
• Cultivate an Owned Player Audience. You will build and maintain Wolf Games' direct relationship with players. This involves developing our community strategy, launching and expanding player platforms like Discord, and establishing consistent methods for attracting, engaging, and retaining early players across various game launches. Your aim is to foster an audience that supports Wolf Games as a whole—not just individual titles—becoming a continuous source of feedback, advocacy, and momentum.
• Drive Brand & Content Strategy. You will define how Wolf Games presents itself at every public touchpoint. This includes owning brand positioning, messaging, website strategy, social media presence, and our build-in-public content initiatives, ensuring that every interaction reinforces our identity and mission. Collaborating with the Creative team, you will lead content strategy and campaigns that cater to both players and commercial partners.
• Oversee Game Launch Marketing. You will spearhead the marketing strategy for each game launch. This entails creating repeatable launch playbooks that integrate community, content, creative, and partner marketing into coordinated campaigns aimed at maximizing awareness, engagement, and long-term player retention. Each launch should fortify the Wolf Games brand and the systems that will support future releases.
• Analyze, Learn & Scale. You will define key metrics and continuously enhance how marketing contributes to the business. This involves establishing measurement frameworks for audience growth, community health, launch performance, and brand awareness, utilizing data and experimentation to refine strategy, uncover new opportunities, and demonstrate marketing's impact on player engagement and commercial success.
• Proven Experience as a 0 → 1 Builder. You have successfully built something from ground zero—be it a marketing function, a brand, a community, or a go-to-market approach. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, making decisions with incomplete information, and delivering results even when everything isn’t fully polished.
• Strategic Marketing Leader. You think beyond mere campaigns. You comprehend how brand, positioning, content, community, partnerships, and launches interconnect to generate long-term business value. You are equally adept at formulating strategy and executing it hands-on.
• Community-Centric Mindset. You excel at creating authentic player communities, not just increasing follower numbers. You have developed environments where individuals return, engage, provide feedback, and become advocates, understanding how community enhances both products and launches.
• Outstanding Storyteller. You possess the ability to transform products, people, and processes into engaging narratives. Whether through social media content, launch campaigns, or build-in-public efforts, you craft stories that capture attention and strengthen the brand.
• Launch & Go-to-Market Expertise. You have successfully led product, game, or entertainment launches involving diverse stakeholders and moving parts. You know how to coordinate teams, manage timelines, and create repeatable launch processes that evolve over time.
• Collaborative Leadership Skills. You thrive in cross-disciplinary environments. You know how to persuade founders, product managers, designers, engineers, and commercial teams, uniting people around a shared vision without depending on formal authority.
• Preferred Experience in gaming, entertainment, consumer products, or creator-led ventures. Familiarity with building communities on platforms like Discord. Understanding of build-in-public or founder-led content strategies. Experience managing agencies, freelancers, or creative teams. Proficient in using AI-powered creative and content tools to enhance ideation and production.
• Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
• Flexible work hours and remote work options.
• Opportunity to work in a fast-paced and innovative environment.
• Access to professional development resources and training.
• Collaborative and inclusive company culture.
