This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Assist the SLFNHA Developmental Services team in delivering health services, along with programs that the DS team collaborates on.
• Collaborate with clients, caregivers, and community resources to foster the growth and development of our clients.
• Organize transportation for staff to and from the airport.
• Aid in the booking process for clients.
• Provide follow-up support to individual clients and their families.
• Facilitate virtual sessions between community clients and Health Care Professionals.
• Oversee and implement services as instructed by SLFNHA Health Care Professional staff.
• Offer support to additional SLFNHA Health Care Professional staff outside the department as needed.
• Report to the Developmental Services Manager - Clinical, Developmental Services for mentorship and daily operational support.
• Completion of partial high school education is required.
• Ability to read and write for effective communication is essential.
• A diploma in Early Childhood Education, Health Sciences, Education, or a related field is considered an asset.
• A minimum of two years’ experience in a health or education services environment is necessary.
• Experience working with children is required.
• Professional integrity and the capacity to maintain confidentiality are crucial.
• Strong organizational and scheduling abilities are essential.
• Proficiency in popular software applications like MS Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat (PDF), as well as internet-based tools, is important.
• A willingness to share knowledge and the culture of First Nations people, particularly the respective community, is expected.
• Must be prepared to advocate for the health and mental health priorities of your community.
• A collaborative team player who can work independently with minimal supervision is sought.
• Preference will be given to individuals of First Nations ancestry (OHRC, Part II, Special Employment).
• The ability to communicate in one of the First Nations dialects of the Sioux Lookout region is an asset.
