
Senior Managing Counsel, U.S. Medical Network

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Lead a team of attorneys dedicated to supporting the contracting for the U.S. medical network.
• Serve as the primary legal counsel for provider relationships, strategy, and support.
• Aid business partners in developing and implementing strategic initiatives and significant projects that impact the medical network.
• Collaborate with cross-functional legal teams on network products and solutions.
• Establish robust business relationships with stakeholders involved in Cigna’s provider relationships.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality legal support to key internal clients.
• Negotiate provider contracts, including arrangements for value-based reimbursement and delegation agreements.
• Stay informed about the regulatory and enforcement landscape affecting the business.
• Assist the business in creating measures to enhance contracting governance and implementation.
• Act as a strategic advisor to the business team and enterprise colleagues regarding the implications and responses to proposed and new rules, regulations, and legislation that affect the provider network.
• J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in the bar is required.
• Over 10 years of legal experience in a corporate legal department and/or law firm.
• At least 3 years of experience in leading, managing, and developing attorneys and legal teams.
• Extensive experience in supporting provider contracting, managing provider relationships, and formulating network strategies within the managed care, health insurance, or healthcare sectors.
• Strong understanding of federal and state healthcare laws, regulations, and government healthcare programs.
• Proven experience in negotiating and drafting complex provider agreements, encompassing value-based reimbursement and delegation arrangements.
• Demonstrated ability to provide guidance to senior leaders on legal, regulatory, and business strategy issues.
